Sweden, 1967
Director: Vilgot Sjoman
Starring: Lena Nyman, Vilgot Sjoman, Borje Ahlstedt
This poster is for the 2002 Japanese release of this late '60s
Swedish sexploitation flick, a film that was banned in many countries
upon release. The use of colour tints and sunglasses is certainly not
unique, but results in a stylish and instantly recognizable psychedelic
aesthetic, and is easily the best poster that I have seen for this film.
As
is true of all the best movie poster art, the design effectively
conveys the film's genre. Looking back 35 years to the golden age of
hippiedom through rose tinted glasses is the route taken here, somewhat
ironically given that the film itself is in black and white!
In any case, this is a great example of a psychedelic movie poster. The chirashi is printed on heavy matte stock.
